Discover the hidden art of fore-edge painting, a centuries-old technique where the edge of a book becomes a secret canvas. Once used to decorate illuminated manuscripts, this beautiful craft is experiencing a modern revival. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn basic watercolor techniques, how to prep your book for painting, and how to create your own edge artwork.
Not quite ready to paint your book? We’ll have watercolor paper and bookmark strips for practice or play.
We Provide:
– Clamps, sturdy planks, watercolor sets, brushes, and paper
You Bring:
– A book you’re comfortable painting or pick one up onsite before we begin
