Boys and Girls Club Assemblage Workshop
The Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale joined The Walter Hive for an afternoon of learning different techniques and skills to create their own individual art pieces. Inspired by two popular modern artists, Claes Oldenburg and Louise Nevelson, the teens learned how to make a realistic looking coffee or tea mug out of resin and an assemblage piece made out of found objects. The results of both the projects were incredible- especially the assemblage pieces which evolved into such imaginative and whimsical worlds of their own. These items are now proudly on display in the Walter Art Gallery and will be open for viewing on our Third Friday event July 19th.
