Phoenix Pride Parade

It was an honor for The Walter Hive to be included with the Phoenix Pride Parade.  Our volunteers came out two nights in a row to help prepare for the event.  The first night we learned from our Bee Keeper, Ryan McDermott how to program, design and then create through laser cutting wood messages to handout at the parade to spectators.  Our Swarm Leader, Alyson Zepeda ran the laser cutter for hours to create enough for handing out to the crowd. The folks who received them loved it!  The next night we gathered again to decorate Big Red with colorful rainbow items to celebrate diversity in our community.  Big Red rolled "proudly" along the parade route with volunteers and music which the crowd cheered for.  At one point I was so overwhelmed with emotion about the love and support in our community that tears were streaming down my cheeks.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who made the event so creative, the Walter Productions operations staff who helped us with Big Red and most importantly to the people of Phoenix who came out in large numbers to celebrate life!
