Weaving and sculpting with the Foundation for Blind Children
In September, The Walter Hive held our second workshop with the Foundation for the Blind, this time working with kids between the ages of four to twenty-one. I got to work with the younger kids on a weaving project with looms that our wonderful volunteers made at the monthly “Hive Building Day” which is held every second Wednesday. The kids each made unique and colorful pieces of art to take home! The teenagers and young adults sculpted clay and made pieces that were meaningful to themselves and got to share their inspiration with everyone at the end of the workshop. Several of the younger kids told us that they were inspired by the music that was playing! This collaboration between The Walter Hive and The Foundation for the Blind was a wonderful experience for me, and I hope the kids had as much fun as I did!
